So this Lent I decided to give up cookies, I’ve never done it before and it was hard, to say the least!  Nevertheless, I stuck to it and am mighty proud of myself.  But now that Lent has passed I am rewarding myself with some homemade chocolate chip cookies and I realised there is just a sea of fantastic recipes out there.  So I sat and looked back at the chocolate chip cookie recipe blogs that I have enjoyed and put together my favourite ten, read them below!

This is a recipe by Inspirational Momma, and she is an inspiration!  Mostly because she’s tried and tested so many combinations of ingredients for us.  That means we don’t need to figure out whether to use ratio’s of oil, butter, margarine etc. because these are just perfect!

Vegan Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

Yep, you read that right, this recipe is vegan.  This means they’re great if you’re vegan, and if you’re not they are so tasty anyway, so just given them a try.  The coconut oil that Jennifer uses adds a silky smooth texture and increases the taste to another level.

Chewy Cookie Recipe

This recipe by Bubbalino Kitchen is simple, which makes them easy to make and even tastier to eat.  Don’t you think that recipes taste so much better when they are quick to make, with minimal clearing up to do?  They even have a little swap at the end, of using half wholemeal and half plain flour to give the cookies a nutty texture.  Plus you can pretend they are “healthier” then 😉

Egg Free Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

This recipe by no diets allowed uses beans as an ingredient.  At first, it seems a little unusual but when you’ve tried them you won’t turn back.  The ethos behind the blog is about living healthier rather than dieting.  That’s an ethos we can get behind and we’ll be using more recipes from it in the future.

Dairy Free Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

This recipe by 24 Carrot Kitchen swaps the usual dairy suspects for almond butter, and what a swap that is!  This makes them full of texture and very filling, so you’ll only need a couple.  Plus she has made a load of other cookie recipes for those on specific diets, such as paleo, which you can find in the blog post.

Espresso Chocolate Chip Cookies

I had never thought of making a mocha style cookie until I stumbled across this recipe and I’m very glad I did.  They make the perfect after dinner treat.  If you’re having some guests over make a batch of these the day before and bring them out after dinner, your party will be remembered for the small details like this.  And you’ll have Megan to thank for that.

Secret Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

OK I’ll admit that I looked at this recipe because of the word “secret”.  It lured me in, and I’m sure it will do the same to you.  Lauren, the author of this recipe is a fitness coach, and although these have got the usual “naughty” ingredients she still wrote the recipe.  The reason behind that is because we need to indulge every now and then.  And what better way to indulge, than with a recipe written by a fitness coach!

These cookies have a healthy twist, they contain protein powder, maybe I can convince myself that it’s “healthy” to have one after a workout?  Plus they’re made with beans and sweetener.  Definitely worth a try.
