Instructions
The Kibbeh
  1. In a container, soak the wheat for 20 minutes in cool water. (You can prepare the stuffing in the meantime) After draining the water from the wheat, place it in a bowl along with 0.75 Kg of the meat, 1 coarsely chopped onion, some salt & pepper.
  2. Place the combination above in a food processor along with a few ice cubes & mix well until it becomes like a dough. Leave it in a covered container. This will be your shell mixture.
  3. Now let's get to the stuffing: in a frying pan, spill 2 tbsp of vegetable oil, then add 1 finely chop onion. After frying the onion for 2 minutes, add the rest of the ground beef (0.75 Kg) & the spices. Heat the mixture for a total of 10 minutes. Don't forget to constantly stir the mixture.
Assembling the kibbeh
  1. Grab an egg-sized portion of the shell mixture & give it a round shape. Poke a whole in it with your finger & add the stuffing in that whole. After that, close the shell & give it a shape: you can make it as round or as pointy as you like! Repeat the process until you run out of meat.
  2. Bake the kibbeh balls in the oven & in the meantime you can start preparing the sauce.
The Final Mix
  1. Stir fry the onion cubes with 0.5Kg of ground beef & add the spices, the lime juice along with the crushed garlic. After that add the crushed tomatoes along with the tomato sauce & a bit of water.
  2. Le the mixture simmer down on low heat for about 10 minutes while the lid is closed. After that, open the lead, and add the kibbeh. Heat the combination for about 5 minutes. And voila, you've got yourself a kibbeh bi banadoura! You can serve it with vermicelli rice & it can also be stored in the fridge for the next day.
