How did the Chef learn how to cook and what is his story?
I learnt to cook from my mother, who was an amazing home cook and also worked evenings in out local Indian Restaurant. I remember as a child, with only three TV channels; the focal point of family life was meal times. I grew up in the north where we used to experienced power cuts. It was depressing time for some but we had mum's delicious onion bhajis to come home to. We would have a floor picnic and eat them by candlelight. It was a magical time - this is when I fell in love with food. I married in 1987 and my husband loved my cooking - which further inspired me to continue cooking good food. As part of his business, he would wine and dine clients. Often disappointed with restaurant food, he would ask me to host dinner parties at the house, which I delighted to do and did so with great enthusiasm and passion. My dinner parties became quite famous and even now, I love catering dinner parties, for friends, family and my clients.
